We personally need the Bible so our families and churches can be what God wants them to be. We personally need the Bible so our nation can be what God wants it to be. I have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and I have a personal relationship with the Bible. The two are inseparable. It is a package deal. If you have a poor relationship with the Bible you have a poor relationship with Jesus. If you have a good relationship with Jesus you have a good relationship with the Bible. If you love the Bible you love Jesus. If you have little time for the Bible you have little time for Jesus. Before I received Jesus I had not received the Bible either. The Bible was dull to me. Now it is exciting. It left me unfulfilled. Now it fulfills me. I wanted it to leave me unchanged and I got what I wanted. I was unchanged. 2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.Acts 20:27: For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. John 6:63: It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.2 Timothy 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. |
